Composer Gerry Ginsburg celebrates his actual 85th birthday on our terrace with a program of his beautiful songs.  Susan Derry returns to Sounds of the City with Trina Renay, making her debut.  Paul Lincoln will be at the piano when the composer isn't and will also sing the debut of some of Gerry's new pieces.

Composer Gerald Ginsburg holds degrees from Oberlin and the Manhattan School of Music.  Among many places, his songs have been sung at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center, Barge Music, and The New School.  His music is characterized by lush unexpected and lush harmonization of gorgeous melodies.

Susan Derry

Susan Derry is so happy to be heading back to the terrace to celebrate Gerald Ginsburg and his stunning music with fantastic people.  When she's not onstage, Susan is a professor of voice at two DC universities,  preparing young performers for musical theater awesomeness.  Read more at

Trina Renay

Trina Renay is a classically trained soprano with professional vocal experience in opera, oratorio, concert rep, jazz and gospel music - in both the US and abroad.  Her passion is spirituals which is what inspired her to self-produce her first CD entitled Songs of The Crown - a compilation of her favorite hymns and spirituals.  She currently sings on a praise team at a mega church in Queens and regularly does concert work on the east coast.

Ani Djirdjirian is a graduate of Adelphi University's vocal performance program where she studied classical, jazz, and musical theatre music. She has just returned from the 2017 national tour of the new musical, "The Lightning Thief", and recently performed in Red river Lyric Opera's production of "Fugitive Songs".
